Our property finding services save our clients time and money

How we work

We aim to provide a service that we were not able to find for ourselves when we needed it. At Simply Gascony we pride ourselves in only taking our clients to view properties that match their criteria as closely as possible. We will not show you an assortment of houses that are unsuitable in the vain hope of trying to sell one. Simply Gascony's personal service is specifically designed to ensure that you do not waste your time and money on viewing trips to France to see properties that will be of no interest to you. None of us have time to waste. If we do not have any suitable properties to view, we will tell you. However, we will undertake to start searching on your behalf and will keep you informed of availability.

Initial Inquiry

From your initial inquiry, contact will be by telephone (at our expense). We do not believe in e-mail “client enquiry forms” and feel that this is a much better way to properly understand your needs. Often questions arise during a conversation that can be addressed immediately. From this initial contact, we will understand exactly what you are trying to find. We will give you an honest appraisal of the marketplace, your suggested budget and possible timescales. We will give you advice that will be honest - it is to everyone’s advantage to be realistic. If you decide that this part of Gascony is not for you so be it, but we don’t think that will be the case!

Property Search and Selection

We will then try to find a selection of properties that best suit your requirements and report back with this selection. If there is honestly nothing that fits, we will let you know. However, our clients remain “active” until we hear otherwise.

The French property market is a strange beast and it is vital to keep your ear to the ground to hear of new properties coming onto the market. Just because we have nothing suitable one week does not mean that it will not be available the next.

Once you have arranged your viewing trip, you will always be accompanied by a Simply Gascony representative who are either English or fluent English speakers.

Your Visit

We are happy to help you arrange accommodation during your stay in the Gers, and you can find a list of recommended hotels, gites and chambre d'hotes on our Useful Information page. We also strongly believe that house-hunting in France should be fun – we can recommend places of interest, restaurants and places to visit where you can taste (and sip!) the simple delights of Gascony.

Assistance During the Buying Process

We will help you as much or as little as you want. Many of our clients have bought property in France before and are fluent French speakers, and simply use us to shortlist suitable houses to view. Others speak no French and find the buying process in France rather daunting.

As a matter of course, we will help you with submitting your offer, we will accompany you to the Notaire’s office, if requested, and we will fully explain the property buying process in France. We can help with arranging utility connection, household insurance, bank accounts, mortgage providers and currency brokers. We will be happy to put you in touch with local tradesmen, plumbers, builders etc. and just as importantly we can proffer advice on life in France – schools, doctors etc.

Other Services

Simply Gascony also offers further ancillary services such as project management, key holding, changeover services etc. This side of Simply Gascony is separate from our property search & selection service and does command a fee. The fees are based on an hourly rate plus transportation costs and are discussed with clients on an individual basis.
