And while you are in the Region

  Musé du Miel
As well as the various chateaux in the region, one of the top 100 gastronomic museums of France is right here on our doorstep. The Honey Museum is run by Emile and Chantal Molès who are leading authorities on honey. They have toured the world to collect hives and artifacts from countries far and wide.  The museum is part of a working farm here in Gascony.  They specialize in making products from honey in the traditional way and produce various home-made sweets using antique machinery.  As well as a rich variety of honeys, they also make their own nougat, wax candles, sunflower oil, various flours, apertifs and mead - it makes a change from wine!  All are available for sale in the museum's shop.
